Associate/Sessional Training Officers – Yorkshire Region

ITEC are looking for high-quality vocational teaching professionals, in the following areas, who have the highest expectations of themselves and their students.

Programmes - Apprenticeship Standards/Frameworks and BTEC Short Courses:

• Management/Team Leading
• Care/Childcare
• Customer Service
• Employability Skills
• Functional Skills

If you provide high quality teaching and assessment have a natural enthusiasm for improving the knowledge and skills of others, then this could be the role for you.

As a Training Officer you are required to carry out the following duties in the context of ITEC’s policies and practices, particularly Safeguarding, PREVENT, British Values, Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Data Protection, and those of any host organisations, including informing students of their obligations:

Plan delivery using a variety of methods, interventions and materials appropriate to the student group.

Follow a scheme of work and lesson plans in line with the syllabus.

Appropriate progress reports for curriculum manager.

Work in ways which promote equality of opportunity, participation and responsibility, for students, adapting course content and delivery style to meet these needs in line with ITEC policies.

Help students to identify and express their needs and to identify opportunities for their development and progression to further learning and/or employment.

Deal appropriately with individual student support needs, using the appropriate forms and recording the required evidence as per the guidelines provided.

Ensure that work is robustly assessed and marked in a timely fashion and students are regularly given written and verbal feedback on their progress.

Evaluate the effectiveness of learning and keep accurate records of students’ progress.

Required/desirable Qualifications:

GCSE Maths and English grade A-C 
PTLLS (as a minimum) or DTTLS, Certificate of Education or PGCE qualification 
TAQA/A1 Assessor Qualified
